Open the Recovery Console.
Try copying the .exe file rather than expanding it:
Type ‘copy G:\i386\ntoskrnl.exe C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe’ (not the quotes but the 2 spaces) and press Enter.
If the above doesn’t work, rename the file by typing ‘ren C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.old’ (not the quotes but the 2 spaces) and press Enter. Then try the copy again.
Lastly, try running chkdsk, which sometimes works:
Type ‘chkdsk /r’ (note the space) and press Enter.
