I can't suggest anything more than removing the disk and "slaving" it into another desktop computer. From there I'd copy the important parts then format the disk.
I'd place the blank disk back in the original computer as the master then use recovery discs/Windows discs to restore the system. Don't take my word for Gospel though, someone might be able to suggest something better.
