Do USB hubs get confused??
      Sat Feb 09 2008 11:35 AM

I'm using a 2 year old PC running XP, plenty of memomory, decent processor and very up to date anti-virus and anti-spyware that are both run regularly. I use a USB hub with 4 slots and regularly connect my i-pod, printer, camera and USB memory stick to the hub - all are regularly disconnected for various reasons.

Just recently I noticed my PC would not recognise the printer even though all drivers and software are up to date - not really an issue as I took to printing from my laptop. Now the PC won't recognise either my i-pod or the memory stick. I've tried powering off the hub, using different slots but can't get the hub to work although it works on my laptop. So my question is do USB hubs 'freeze' and need resetting in some way, am I missing something obvious or is the hub / PC USB ports knackered??
