The discount will more than likely void your current contract, so a new one has to be created as it forms a new deal with yourself and BT and you will be basically treated like a new customer to benefit the new deal, you're lucky that you are getting the opportunity to take on a new deal, usually offers like this are only for NEW customers and not existing.
