no audio device !!!!!

HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!im hoping this is easy to recitify but im new to all this so here goes, my computer has no sound and when i check into sounds - im told no audio device ..bit of back ground to all this too, my brother tried to tidy up!!??! my pc as it was slow and i think this may have something to do with this !!????
