Microsoft Loopback Adapter??

I'm in the process of switching my ISP from Pipex to Tiscali. I'm almost there but for some reason I have problems with the Microsoft Loopback Adapter.I've looked at my Network Connections and my Microsoft Loopback Adapter is displaying the message "Limited or no connectivity" which it never showed with Pipex. I've tried reinstalling it as per the numerous online instructions but to no avail.
Does anybody know how I can get it working again. I've set up the Tiscali connection manually and I'm using a Netgear WiFi router with XP Pro.
Any help appreciated,
