AOL v's IE7

This might be really simple to sort but i dont have a clu how to so I am looking for your help again !
I have AOL as my ISP and have previously used their browser for the net. However, after using IE7 I have decided that it is my preferred option.
Problem is, I sign in to AOL to get an internet connection and then minimise it. Then I open IE7 but the AOL page keeps popping up over the top of it which is really frustrating.
If you can guide me in the direction of sorting this out it would be much appreciated.
