Hi,
I am having a similar problem with accessing control panel (which seems also to have happened since my sons started accessing music download sites onto their Christmas MP3 players!). There was a trojan and spyware warnings that I managed to clear (following another thread and using SmitfraudFix).
But I am unable to access Control Panel at all. It's hidden on the normal menus, but trying to go through other links, I get a message "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in place on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."
I'm running Windows XP on my home PC, using Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition, and currently using Windows Defender, though I wasn't using Defender at the time the problem started.
Any tips as to how I get this fixed?
