Try running through this first.... here. . Have to say I'm not confident it will help as a quick google suggests many others have had the same problem.It seems to be a known problem , with users having to change registry entries , renaming DLL'S etc etc. NOT something a user should have to do , or in fact even consider doing.
Of course as a Symantec customer you are entitled to support so the best bet may be to contact them. Symantec support.
