Webuser Forums: iPod Classic Skipping

It seems that many people are having problems (including me) with the iPod Classic skipping certain songs.

I'm not certain yet but it seems that they skip when there is no information on how the file was encoded.

You can check this under iTunes by right clicking a song and choosing get info and looking were it says encoded with.

The problem for me is I have a massive music library and the majority of my songs seem to be missing this information except the ones I have purchased from the iTunes music store or ripped from CDs using iTunes. Most of the files ripped into mp3 using RealPlayer and Windows Media Player seem to be missing this information.

Its really bugging me that everytime I want to copy something to my iPod I have to convert it because it takes quite a long time.
Should this be fixed in a future update?
