1. The SSID can be any name you wish, I don't suggest you use YourName, YourRoad, YourCat, etc. be imaginative.
2. You will probably have to supply a passphrase to create a WPA key.
3. For anyone, including people at your house, to connect wirelessly they will have to type in the SSID and the WPA key that you created.
4. It's always difficult to solve the 'limited' connection problem as a number of things can affect it. In my previous reply, I suggested you go to the router settings and change the channel number to get an improved signal, try going up or down about 6 channels, e.g. if it's currently on 5 set it to 11 or if it's 10 change it to 4.
Also, make sure you don't have metal radiators and thick walls between the router and the PC.
Do you have a third-party firewall?
EDIT. I should have said that when you're changing the security, it's best to do it with the Ethernet cable connected because if you have just one PC connected by wi-fi, you could accidentally lock yourself out. If you do lock yourself out you will have to reset the router (or plug in the Ethernet cable) in order to reconnect.
