Could be the hard drive failing.

Go to Start > Run.

Type chkdsk /f /r (note the spaces) and press Enter.

You will get a message about starting a check at next boot. Enter Y and restart.

This will correct erros but not fix your hard drive. You need to download a utility from the manufacturer's website to check it properly.

In Device Manager, what does it say under hard drive?
