Hi, I Had until very recently Vista installed on my PC but i have a message coming up saying that it was not a Genuine version, I decided afterwoods to reinstall XP due to the fact that my current sound card is not compatable with Vista nor are some of my games and it would be better over the Christmas Period if i can have both working. I Booted the computer from the XP Installation CD after being unable to re-format by right clicking on C Drive etc. During the installation i had a few files that were unable to install of which i decided to skip knowing that it may have consequenses later on and now it wont let me go anyfurther coming up with an Error message, below:
System Setup Log - (C:\Windows\Setuperr.log) SXS.DLL: Syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:\1386\asms\1000\MSFT\WINDOWS\GDIRLUS.man" on line 4
xxx
Error: Installation failed: D:\1386\asms. Error Message: Access is denied
xxx
Fatal Error: One of the components that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.
Access is denied Is there anyway in which i can completely reformat my computer and start again or can i dix this problem another way?
Thank you in advance for any help Simon
