You need to find out why it's turning off so quickly before getting your operating system sorted.

Have yoiu checked the temperature? Is the fan and heatsink clean?

Go into the BIOS settings and you should find a temperature monitor somewhere. Your CPU temp should be no more than 60c when it's idling.
