I've just tried that but if anything it seems to make it worse. Something else I've noticed is that if I highlight text, the bits that text which would normally turn white shows up in white and rainbow colours. It's only just percepible but definitely there.

I have a spare flat screen monitor. If I swap this one over with it, would it help identify what the problem is do you think? It would be a bit of a hassle because of the way I have my wiring.
