It appears to be running fine(a suggestion has been an overheat of the PC)but all seems well, the Hard Drive isn't making any strange noises.
If I have to reboot and suddenly disappear, at least you'll know why(then it may be a case of getting a repair person in)
I've never done reformatting or installing of Windows so it perhaps seems more difficult than it really is. I feel less pessimistic if that ends up the solution but it's all new to me.
I've burned anything of importance that I'm afraid may be lost if the pc crashes(will do photo's later)I also would like to save e-mails and Favourites/e-mail addresses(the last two seem easy to do)
On my main hard drive the only extra programs I have are Avast Antivirus, CC Cleaner, Piscasa 2, I Tunes, Winamp, Ad Aware, Nero, Adobe Reader, Real Player, Quick Time Player, Ipodder, AV Rack, Power DVD, AV Music Morpher, Mailwasher and that appears to be it.
Lots of spare space.
As to your question(at last)I followed your directions.
Yes, I found 13 pages that looked as though they had cog wheels on them. And two folders called V1.0.3705 and V.1.14322 and something called NETFXsb510 Installation Hook.
Glad this happened before I decide to sign up for Broadband which I was starting to think of doing.
