After lending my spare machine to my nephew to work on a school project I discovered a bunch of downloaded music etc (read: teenage boy ).
After deciding to reformat the whole machine I am having difficulties with a couple of things:
1) I am getting several Trojan warnings - I run Active Virus Shield, AVG 7.5, Spybot, IE Privacy Keeper, Super Anti Spyware. I was told by a colleague that there may be a conflict between these programs, and that I should try fewer. 2) When I try to access the Control Panel to delete these programs I cannot see the Control Panel anymore. When I click on Select Program Access and Defaults I get the message "this operation has been cancelled due to the restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact you system administrator". 3) When I check the other user on the computer - my fiance, she is listed as a Limited User... I should be the only administrator.
What should I do? My initial aim was to clear up the Trojan warnings... now it appears that much more is happening beneath the surface. Do I need to reformat again?
