DVD burning via 'Dazzle' out of sync.

I have been given a 'Dazzle' device to insert between my VCR and the PC. The 'Dazzle' Instant DVD Recorder software is installed and I can record from VCR through the 'Dazzle' to a DVD.
The problem I have is that the picture is fine and the audio is fine.
They are just not working together.
The relevant audio track is about five seconds behind the appropriate video picture.
Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440
Connection is via USB.
Under Multimedia is shown:
Creative SB Live Series (WDM)
Creative SBLive gameport
Dazzle DVC 100 Audio Device
Dazzle DVC 100 Video Device.
RAM 512
Am I doing something wrong or is it a hardware problem.
Any advice on how to get both picture and sound to synchronize would be appreciated
