Thanks Josh for some very sound advice. I have reached the 'research and note-taking' stage already. Some things are quite interesting i.e. for a slightly higher price one can obtain a dramaticaly higher spec component. Also, as I'm not a music buff and download very little, there are things in an off-the-shelf PC that I just don't need.
