Well, I don't know about you, but if I was to get involved with a charity (even just viewing a web site) I'd want to know who and where they were, and if that information wasn't available on the site, or via Whois - with charity reg number, etc, - then I'd think twice about getting involved. And yes, I and others might well think the worse.
There are enough scamsters on the net without giving that impression (unintentionally, or otherwise) to site visitors and potential donors. To deliberately omit or otherwise obfuscate such relevant information would appear, at least, dubious if not underhand, IMO.
