My apologies for not posting this yesterday when we made another assault on the Fresh Download error message! We had no luck at all, despite following your instructions, uninstalling, reinstalling and getting RegSupreme, rebooting and so on. In the end, we decided to get Free Download Manager and it works fine, we did a download to check that it's working properly and it does, so thanks for recommending it. We got FlashGot too. I liked the look of FDM, so I uninstalled Fresh Download and got FDM instead. I can't get it to recognise my NAV though. I tried the various versions in the drop-down menu, but it didn't like any of them! It's not really a problem as I'm in the habit of doing an AV check on downloaded files anyway, so I'll carry on doing that. There wasn't an option to browse to my AV, just the drop-down menu. Maybe it doesn't like my NAV as it's the 2003 version, although all the components of my Norton Internet Security 2003, including NAV, are fully up to date. Anyway, many thanks for your help and advice, it's much appreciated by both my friend and me.
Madeline.
