Re: Access Violation error

It really doesn't matter whether a site's red, green or sky blue pink! What matters is that people exercise their common sense! McAfee SiteAdvisor's red and yellow colours warn people to be cautious about what they do and/or download on such sites. Just because a site is "red" it doesn't automatically follow that everything on the site is bad or harmful to your PC, such sites frequently contain "green" downloads.
One of the most useful programs I have on this PC came from a "red" site. It's a small program called CutWarn and I've set it to give me both audible and visual warnings 10 minutes before my dial-up connection is due to be cut off. I've posted links to "red" sites for a "green" download and I always mention if McAfee SA shows it as red or yellow.
Everything I download is saved to the Downloads folder on my Desktop, where I scan it with my AV and an anti-spyware program before I run it. I do this without fail, no matter where the download comes from, even Microsoft!
McAfee SiteAdvisor is just that ~ an advisor, to be used alongside one's own judgement.
For the record, I trust Mouse 100%, if he recommends something, that's good enough for me!

Madeline.
