My first post so forgive me if this has been covered.
I have been attempting to set up my daughters PC via BT pay as you go dial up connection. The same fault has appeared on two new and seperate PCs which work fine everywhere else excpet her home and telephone connection.
The line has been checked via the operator and am told there is no fault between her home and the exchange.Today an automated check told us the line was disabled, as I was using the phone to check at the time it obviously wasn`t.
The free phone help line is wonderful for asking questions, until you want an answer then your redirected to a premium rate number in India. Which when using a mobile becomes expensive and as they didnt know what I was talking about useless as well.
Today Sunday the same problem arose as I tried again to set it up, at a alternate address to check out the Pc hardware and software installations it worked fine and connected no problem both via dial up and broadband.
Upon seting it up at her home, we again to my horror got redirected to the Secure Intelligent Landing Page and kept getting disonnected as the connection failed.
Being Sunday BT help desk is no help, UNTIL Monday and I don`t anticipate much help then either if last times have been an indicator.
This is becoming an infuraiting and ridiculous problem. Her pc is running Win XP and a Pentium 3 with 256 ram.
Any help appreciated. biggles
