I would suggest you keep them for the time being. Download the new driver to a place you remember, and then locate your audio card in "Device Manager" and choose the "Update Driver" option. Locate the new driver, and let it install. If the new driver doesn't solve your problems, you can always go back into Device Manager and use the roll back driver option to get you back to where you are right now. That way, at least you will be where you are now, and other solutions can be explored.
