I don't use a laptop, so I'm not sure that I can help, but I'll try! What is your screen refresh rate? To find out, go to Control Panel>Display>Settings tab, click on "Advanced", then on the Monitor tab and see what your screen refresh rate is set to. It should be at least 72 Hertz. Mine's set to 75 Hz and it doesn't flicker like it did when it was set to 60Hz. Also make sure that there's a tick in the box "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display". I've got a desktop PC with a CRT monitor, so it may not be the same for you.
