Laptop keeps turning itself on

I've got a new laptop (HP DV9030EA) and there's been a number of times where I have come to my laptop and the battery is dead. At first I thought it was something wrong with the battery, but as soon as I plug it into the mains and turn it on, the first thing I see when I get into windows is a "plug your laptop in the mains" warning message. When I leave the laptop or prepare to put it into my bag I have always ensured that it's switched off (usually in hibernate).
I've checked windows and the bios and I can't find any "wake on LAN" option at all, assuming maybe this is the cause of the problem, and I've scanned my laptop for viruses and trojans and have come up with nothing.
I'm still going to continue my efforts to find out what's causing the problem (Tonight I put the laptop into hibernate while I was playing a local MP3, so that way I can tell if it comes back out of hibernate again) but I would really appreciate any help regarding this problem. I'm starting to think perhaps I should remove the battery every time I turn it off but I really shouldn't need to do that. It's had me baffled so far!
Thanks in advance!
