Advice please. Need to wipe old hardrive and reinstall windows?

Hi,
I want to wipe my hardrive on my old PC and reinstall windows what is the best way to do this and the easiest please. Daughter is having PC upstairs but I want to clear the system so it run better for her as she wants it to play Sims etc on it.
Any advice appreciated.
