It works with the older epson printers but not the later models , i tried it on my brothers cx3600, which said " Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life", which he ignored, and only rang me when all the lights started flashing and the printer wouldn't work. we cleaned the waste ink pad and even though there was very little in it we still couldn't get the error cleared. he bought a new one today in "curry's" (DX5000 all in one) for £90, (£50 off).
it seems that when you run the " printhead cleaner" it adds points to your maintenance log, when the points reach a certain number, kabamm, it needs serviced by an epson dealer. my advice is only use the print head cleaner when absolutely necessary.
i have tried SCC in mine, it's a DX 4800, it won't show current value (an error occurred) but says it has reset the counter. so i don't know whether it has worked or not. why do manufacturers install this self destruct function.
