graphics card upgrade options

I have a Intel® Desktop Board D845GVSR on my emachines 3260, I have boosted the ram to 1gig and given it a second 200gig hard drive but know want to upgrade the graphics. It presently only has onboard graphics and can't cope with to much graphically, games etc. what are my options? from what I can tell i need something with a pci interface does this include pci express or is that out of my motherboards league? I'm looking at something not too dear, second hand say but also not too outdated thats not much better than what i've got and would be good for vista when it comes along. can some one give me some general pointers so I can go off and check out ebay etc. Cheers guys and Gals!
