Do I Really Need A Zip Programme
      Mon Dec 29 2003 10:30 AM

On my old PC I had Winzip...my grandson installed it.

Now I have XP home on the new Evesham (a little plug!) and I wonder if it is necessary to have one.

My main interests on the PC are music, making MP3s from audio discs, making audio compilations, storing my music library (about 12 GB). I also am starting out into digital photography.

I do not want to clutter up my machine with unnecessary programmes, so would appreciate your advice. I did take Bricat's advice and hovered over "new" in the file section and the zip thingy came up, but when I opened it , all I found was a blank screen, which made me wonder what use that was!

I await your comments.
