(Re)install chipset USB drivers

I operate Windows XP (SP2) and am trying to install a Webcamera. Part of the instructions tell me to "(Re)install chipset USB drivers". I have not done this before and I wonder if there is someone out there who can guide me through the basics if this task?? With many thanks!!
