Not a prob, just a moan!!
      Tue May 16 2006 09:49 PM

Ooooooooh blueyonder really got under my skin today! My friend just purchased a brand spanking new PC today. He asked me to set it up for him as he had zero experience with computers. Ok everything plugged in...keyboard, speakers, mouse, modem, monitor etc.... Set it up and all was working fine until I tried to connect to the net. So I used the Blueyonder installation CD, then it asked for the username and password. my friend gave me all the gumph that he was sent from blueyonder years ago confirming his username....but no password! So I called them up and after waiting in the queue for nearly an hour listening to music that you wouldn't even play at a deaf persons birthday bash I finally got through to some guy that could just about speak english!! After at least 10 minutes of trying to explain that I DO NOT have the account number OR the password he finally agreed to help me.

So I thought I was set and would soon be opening the web for my friend....NO! The bloke now asks why windows won't discover my previous password and username etc....so more useless banter, "IT'S A BRAND NEW COMPUTER! Does it magically say, 'Oh yes I know you, you are so-n-so, here, I know your password, I asked that old obsolete machine sitting in the corner waiting to go down the dump!' ?!?!? I think NOT!"

Anyway he finally agreed to reset the password, but it still wouldn't connect, so I asked him to stay on the line while I try through network connections in control panel. Thankfully he agreed! I set up a new connection and windows detected the modem and asked for the username and password, after typing that in and it STILL wouldn't connect I asked the "technical advisor" what to do now, he asked what window I was in, I told him....control panel, network connections etc etc.... now he tells me he CAN NOT help me as he has never heard of this and I have downloaded spyware of some kind!!!!!!! I was now fuming! I said, "This is a brand spanking new computer, fresh out of the box about an hour ago, it won't even connect to the internet, hence the reason I am talking to you! How do you think I downloaded spyware if I can't even get on the net?" His reply, "Yes, you have downloaded spyware and I can not help you as I've never heard of this!" WHAT AN IDIOT!!!!!!! So I then went through the whole procedure again....and again and....you guessed it....AGAIN! I was now asking to speak to someone with a little more knowledge on this subject and he says I'm offending him and that he's got this degree or some rubbish and refused to pass me over to somebody else! So I said something rather offensive to him and he hung up on me. So I called again, just to get the same idiot! I told him not to worry, just to receive some sarcastic remarks from him! With that and with my friends permission, to cancel the internet service and that his manager will hear about this!

All I am trying to say is, I will not recommend blueyonder to anyone! And their obnoxious attitude and stupidity has cost them a customer!

Sorry for the long post and there isn't really a meaning to this post but I thought I'd just let you know about my experience with blueyonder helpline!

Thanks for reading,

Stu.
