Webuser Forums: Need to access email & web everywhere!

Hello everyone,

I really need some advice as I'm a complete novice in this area.

As part of my job, I need to access the web and email from wherever I go, so really I need a new mobile which is capable of this. I have a notebook which I carry with me daily, and it would be great if the new mobile could give web access to the notebook. Here I'm thinking of a dial up access bridged via wifi or bluetooth? Not even sure if this exists or is available!

Also while out and about, I would like to read and reply to my emails directly from my phone (I leave the notebook at work / home sometimes).

My current phone only just manages text messages, I have no idea of the model, but it is a Nokia on Virgin. I'd love to stay with Virgin if possible.

I normally keep up to date with technology, but the mobile world seems to have left me behind.

The main problems I have are:
I want to keep costs low - I don't mind spending cash if its worth it, and I'd prefer to hand over extra cash initally if it keeps running costs down.
I don't want to buy something which is already dated. I'd love to sell this new device in a year or so, to buy a new model - so I keep up to date and prevent the mobile world passing me by again!

Does anybody have any suggestions? Do any of you use a mobile for the same purposes? Any help, knowledge, advice or suggestions would be really appreciated.
