possible javascript problem

Hi - hope someone can help. Whenever i click on link in a website using IE which would normally open up a separate window, nothing happens - sometimes get a white screen which then reverts back to the original website after a few seconds. Example of a site would be www.chelseafc.com when I try to click on the chat link. I think it might be something to do with javascript but I don't know much about this.
