they aren't saved in temporary internet files, they are saved in temporary files in other locations like :-
c:\temp c:\windows\temp c:\documents and settings\{username}\local settings\temp
among other places.
if you clean these out, which is advised a lot of the time, because adware, malware etc just love hiding in them. you will find that all the programs you have clicked "run" on will be lost.
