Tesco broadband uses an unusual DSL technology to other DSL broadband suppliers called datastream.

It appears that datastream shares its resources on a particular exchange.
Like an old shared telephone line.
If you are the only logged on user on datastream on your exchange, you have full throughput.
The next datastream connection halves your throughput, and so on.
