Help carried out Spyware cleaning shown in issue 92 no

Running: Windows 98
Internet Provider: AOL ver 8.

Carried out all the tasks in the issue 92 Practical Feature (Spyware Cleaning), now internet running even slower than before, also keeps dropping connection. Please help if poss.
