e-mail error message

i get the following error message in my e-mail program

The server responded with an error. Account: 'pop3.blueyonder.co.uk', Server: 'pop3.blueyonder.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR AVG POP3 Proxy Server: Cannot connect to the mail server!', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC90

i can send mail but not recieve any....any ideas please ?

It appears AVG AntiVirus may be messing up your retrieval of mail - see if there is a setting to disable the scanning of incoming mail. The program should still detect the presence of any malicious files in the computer.
