Default Google Chrome update

There's a new stable version of the browser available. It's version 3.0.195.32 and you should be able to get it via the browser's updater.
You can also download the browser from here if necessary.

This still isn't shown on the FileHippo site. They seem only to do the beta versions at present.

Here are the Changes on this Update
No feature changes.Just Security and Bug /Crash fixes this time

[ QUOTE ]
Google just updated the stable channel Chrome build to 3.0.195.32 and the latest version comes with the usual set of stability and security fixes, but nothing in terms of new features.
Chrome 3.0.195 has been around for a couple of months now, and it's only seen some small bug-fixing updates. This latest one is no exception, with five issues being resolved. An issue that prevented users from going back from searches in Google Maps has now been fixed. Another one affecting Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.2 has also been resolved and content now displays properly.

A problem coming from upstream in the Webkit build, the open source HTML rendering engine on which Google Chrome is built, in which decoding an AAC file would sometimes lead to an infinite loop has also been resolved. A bug that was one of the leading crash causes in the stable Chrome builds has now finally been fixed. Finally, an issue where setInterval would take up 100 percent of the CPU is now also resolved.
A couple of security holes have also been plugged. In the first one, users weren't warned that some file types, like SVG, MHT and XML, could run JavaScript code on their machines and could potentially access local resources. The user would need to visit a malicious site and open the file in order for this type of attack to be successful.
Finally, an attacker could use a Gears vulnerability to cause memory corruption leading the Gears plugin to crash or possibly to arbitrary code being run. In order to pull off this type of attack, a user would have to visit a page controlled by the attacker and also confirm that they trust the site to use the Gears plugin. Both issues have now been fixed.

You're right, it's sinking in gradually! Google Chrome has become easier to use over time I think.

Stable Update: Fix Google Chrome not Starting
Thursday, November 12, 2009 | 10:50
Labels: Stable updates
Google Chrome's Stable channel has been updated to 3.0.195.33 to fix a potential issue that could cause Google Chrome to stop working and a security issue.

This release removes a dependency on a Windows library (t2embed.dll) that is not required by Google Chrome. If that library is missing or the user does not have permission to read it, earlier versions of Google Chrome would fail silently.

Security Fix:
CVE-2009-2816 Custom headers incorrectly sent for CORS OPTIONS request

A malicious web site operator could set custom HTTP headers on cross-origin OPTIONS requests.

More info: https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=28446, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3949

Severity: Low. The majority of users are unlikely to be impacted by this issue.
Credit: Apple Security
Mitigations:
A victim would need to visit a page under an attacker's control.
The OPTIONS attribute is not widely supported by servers.

Mark Larson, Google Chrome Team

Unusually, this update has been a Bit slow with the Manual update

Thanks, that's interesting. I saw elsewhere that there was an update, but when I checked in the browser, it had already done it. Maybe that's why it seemed to take quite a long time to open the homepage.

Default upgrade 3.0.195.38

[ QUOTE ]
“Google Chrome's Stable channel has been updated to version 3.0.195.38. (The Stable channel is still Windows-only.) This release fixes a couple of browser crashes: fixes a crash while typing in the omnibox. Fixes a crash while playing mp4 videos with odd sizes, such as 1366x768,” noted Mark Larson, from Google Chrome Team

Thanks, I've got v3.0.195.38. As before, I opened the browser, checked and the new version was already installed. Very nice and easy!
