Gmail icon

Anyone tell me how I can place gmail icon on desktop, have tried various ways.
I do not use it as my main email, but I use it and think it is brill, and want quick access.

This is one easy option:

Whilst in your browser, reduce the Window size so you can see your Desktop background.
Left click on the the GMail icon and hold mouse button down while dragging the icon out of the 'Address Bar' onto your Desktop.



I have used Internet Explorer in this instance, but it works the same with Firefox and I dare say with other browsers.
