Recovery/back up disc

Just recently bought a new laptop and am trying to make a recovery/back up disc.
Everything goes ok and then about halfway through disc 1 it stops with the following error;
A power calibration area error occurred
Error code; OEO1B5-26-00037304

Have tried twice and same things happens and when put disc in again it comes up with "you cannot record data to this disc".
Im using DVD+R discs (was told this is what to use).
Any help gratefully received!

Hi is your pc an HP if so i had the same problem ring HP or if it is another make
give them a ring HP sent me free back up disc in the post.
