Default I Know where the W/Us have landed locally

I was looking everywhere high and Low for Copies of W/U
as in my Previous topic

Now I can reval where they have ended up
Somebody said try Tesco ..The Tesco Expresses had No Copies
But when I peeked on the Wigan Main Tesco store Lo and Behold There where I estimate 2 to 3 dozen copies and this store is Isolated at the far end of a Massive car park where Wigan used to play Rugby league

Can any one comfirm the same is happening in your local towns Tesco supermarket
That they are grabbing more copies than they can sell?
Not tried ASDA /Walmart

Hi Bed,

Both of my local tesco stores have a small number of copies each month. One is a metro and the other is one of the new Homeplus format stores.

I get mine by subscription but there are usually plenty of copies in my local Tesco Superstore.

Having worked for 20 years in newspaper circulation, which uses the same wholesale distribution network as magazines and periodicals, I can assure you that Tesco (or any other outlet) cannot simply "grab" an excessive number of copies to the exclusion of the smaller retailers. If it is anticipated that a particular issue is likely to attract a higher than usual demand (for example the Radio Times at Christmas) a procedure known as "boxing out" is applied to distribute additional copies to all outlets based on the anticipated additional sale.

Outlets can, of course, order additional copies of any publication, but if this is found merely to be generating excessive "waste", it will be cut back by the wholesaler.
