Spotify offline

Please can someone answer something that's confusing me. How can you possibly listen to Spotify offline? I know that you have to make your playlist whilst online, but I thought that the music streamed from the Internet, so how can you possibly be offline and still be able to play music?

Spotify Premium subscribers can select their playlists and set them to be ‘Available offline’. Those playlists will then be synced to your computer so you can continue to listen to your favourite tunes if you have a slow connection or even if you have no connection at all.
Each computer will be able to store up to 3,333 tracks at a time.

Thanks for that. Is that the same for mobiles too because I can't see them being able to hold 3,333 tracks?

The 3.333 will be a maximum limit set by Spotify.
Mobile phones will be limited to their storage capacity but will not be able to go above the maximum limit even if they could.

So if I had a PAYG phone contract and I was using Spotify in online mode, would I be charged per minute as if I was browsing the web on my phone, as well as the £9.99/month Spotify charge?

Sorry but I'm fairly new to all this.

If you have a PAYG phone, you pay as you go as you would normally.

The £9.99/month is for a service Spotify give you and nothing to do with how you access the service.

So your phone's service provider would still charge you per minute for using Spotify online?

If your phone is PAYG, all you have done is in effect purchased an amount of usage time in minutes or texts and/or data download amounts in KBs.
Going on-line with PAYG uses up that amount. When you have run out of credit, you purchase more.

Yes I know how PAYG works, what I am saying is that you have to pay £9.99 per month for Spotify as well as the charge for the data usage from your mobile provider too?

I'm not sure if you last post is a statement or a question. I'll take it as a question as you have included a question mark.

What I would suggest is let your PAYG credit run completely out.
If hypothetically, you have indeed paid £9.99 per month, or whatever it costs, for their service, try to access that service from your PAYG phone.

You may find that your phone tells you you can't as you don't have any credit.

So, back to your last question if it was a question, "do you have to pay the £9.99 per month for Spotify as well as the charge for the data usage from your mobile provider too?"
