Default Dell only offering 64 bit windows .. do all drivers exists in 64 bit now?

I had a look on Dell's site and it seems to be ALL 64 bit win7.

Does all new hardware now come with 64 bit drivers (or will it within a month or so of win7 release. I don't want to be in the early vista situation where there aren't many 64bit drivers.

Most of the Vista x64 (64-bit) drivers will work on Windows 7. The major problem is trying to run old software.

Plug in all your peripheral equipment and check your existing configuration. Download the W7 upgrade advisor http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...e-advisor.aspx

old software?

Does that mean Office 2003 won't work on a 64 bit machine ?

Does all software have to be designed for 64bit to work ?

Thanks

Sorry, I’m being over-dramatic, I was thinking of much older software, e.g. my old 16-bit programs run Windows 7 in x86 but not in x64.
