Quivering Screen ?

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a bit of help.

I'm using a Dell Inspiron 640m, WinXP, OS.
Every 10 or 20 seconds the screen quivers, making text and graphics fuzzy, quivers can last over 30 seconds, and seems fairly random.

Anyone any advice on what to try as a repair ?

Any chance of borrowing a different monitor?

Years ago I had a bulky old fashioned monitor and had similar symptoms, I had a degaussing button on it and that did clear it up. Do not know about modern monitors, especially your laptop. I would get into contact with Dell and ask them direct.
