Default Unused A-drive question

Hello everyone,
I quit using my A-drive years ago (it doesn't work anyway). Is the os loading drivers for it at start-up? If it is, will that slow down start-up? How do I uninstall the A-drive so it isn't detected by Windows?
Tanks, Alan

The drive letters "A" and "B" are reserved for floppy disk drives, 3½" and 5¼". Physically removing your floppy drive will stop it appearing in "My Computer", otherwise it may be possible to disable it in the BIOS settings. Its removal isn't going to make any noticeable difference to the speed at which the PC boots.

Your floppy drive will not use any resources and can be removed . New Floppy Drives? About a Tenner
My computer Has never had a Floppy fitted and Shows the A: Drive
I think the Driver for this is a "Plug & Play" type So Windows auto detects if its "Present'" and Includes it in the Startup
As to the Startup List I forget if there is an entry to look in this location. This can be deleted if it shows
