Default Vob to avi convertor - no free trials

Hi there, I have a dvd recorder and when I burn a show to a dvd it burns to vob files. This is fine to watch on my other dvd player, but I want to watch it on the way to work on my archos and as the archos only plays avi it poses a dilema.

Can someone recommened a good free bit of software that doesnt have a free trail attached, or should I bite the bullet and pay for a decent one?

Thanks for your help in advance

Morning seaweedstu

I tried this -->> Convert VOB to AVI (Freeware) <<-- a while back for experimental reasons and it works well for me.

Give it a go and let us know how you get on.

Good luck.

Thanks for the quick reply, I will have a look at this and let you know. Just a quick question, do I open the disc and convert all the files including the .bin files etc, or just convert the vob ones?

It should be just the .VOB files your interested in.

Save them as mpeg4.

Apologies seaweedstu. It's no good replying quickly if you can't give the right info

However, try this -->> Any Video Converter Free <<--

Hope this works for you. You can alter the settings in the right pane when you click on an option, and you'll see an arrow to a drop down menu for you to select from. Try the defaults first though.

Good luck.
