Default enable cookies in browser

Some websites I use keep freezing on me and I receive a message saying:

'Cookies are not enabled on your browser. Please adjust this in your security preferences before continuing'

I just don't know how to enable cookies without doing a complete reset of internet explorer which I don't really wish to do.

Please can anyone help me?

Linda

Is this happening on Facebook, Linda? If so, this message appeared on the log-in page for me today, but I've signed in as per usual, and without any problems, on two different computers.

Open I.E. , click on tools > internet options > privacy tab. The ideal setting is "medium". If it's not medium then click on the default tab > apply > OK.
Close and restart I.E. and try visiting the freezing websites.
