Windows Media has doubled everything

use Windows for my media - and in last 2 days for some reason almost ALL of my music has been doubled. Under every song the same song appears again

Not at all sure what I did not make this happen

Can anyone explain and help me delete so I have one of everything?

Have you got an external drive connected to your system?

Have you moved any of your music to a different folder?

Have you added any new folders to WMPs Library?

Right click over a doubled up track and scroll to down to Open File Location (click here for image), do this over both tracks, what folders do they open up? Are they the same?

Have checked it as you say - both say WM Audio file - so no difference there

I have been coverting some files from Windown Meida to iTunes but only a small number - whereas about 90% of my windows media has doubled.

No re external drive

Again any thoughts ould be much appreciated
