IE8 - Not wanted.

Have recently downloaded and run IE8 and now wonder why? All I have managed to do is fill up the top half of the browser with lines of buttons I dont want that supposedly help with my browsing experience! I have turned of all the toolbars and got it to look like how it was with IE7 but am thinking of unisnstalling it as it has become slower since downloading it.
I dont need all those button things , I just view webpages and am happy with it!
So , how do I uninstall IE8 and will it revert back to IE7 automatically?

To save me typing it all out again, have a look at this. Yes, IE7 will be available afterwards.

Right click the toolbar area at the top of your browser and then un-check all of the toolbars you want to get rid of in order to consolidate that space. You can also browse in Full-Screen mode to minimize the toolbar space and increase the browsing window. Click the icon on the Command Bar that looks like a tiny window-within-a-window with a green arrow on it. If that icon isn't appearing, you can place it on the Command Bar by right-clicking the toolbar area, then scrolling to "Customize" and clicking "Add or Remove Commands..." Select the full screen mode button from the column on the left in the window that pops up and click "Add ->" in order to place it on the Command Bar.

If you want IE 8 to open up and display web pages as IE 7 does, turn on it's Compatibility View by clicking the icon to the right of the address bar that looks like a broken piece of paper. This will render webpages in IE 8 like IE 7 would have.

The OP said he wanted to get rid of IE8 not play with it.

Incidentally you're log in name suggests you work for Microsoft. Do you? You're IP address doesn't appear to be registered with that company.

Your problems Mr Wells with IE8 are mild compared with the trouble I had, and it's led me to ditch the browser. Though it was not that there was a problem that upset me so much, problems occur with most things, but the total unhelpfulness of Microsoft. I will NEVER consider using IE again.
But it did have a good consequence as it made me try other browsers, and I'm now a contented user of Opera. Its' fast, reliable, easy to use and it has an amazing array of features. I'd recommend it to all.
